Session preparation
Prepare for a float session
Know the setup, comfort controls and staff instructions before entering.
Float sessions use a particular environment and equipment that may be unfamiliar on a first visit. Ask staff to explain the actual setup, hygiene routine and available comfort controls. Follow their instructions for that session rather than a generic online duration recommendation.
Work through it
- Read the current float description and preparation notes. Ask about clothing, showering, supplied items and anything that may affect comfort.
- During orientation, locate the call or assistance method and learn how to enter, exit or adjust supported controls. Raise any uncertainty before starting.
- Afterward, follow the facility’s rinse and changing instructions. Record any practical question you would like answered before a future visit.
Check your result
- The actual setup has been explained.
- Staff instructions are understood.
- You know how to end the session.
